Welcome to our first-ever Pumpkin Carving Contest brought to you by Shaunavon Florist and Garden Center, Floberg Farms, and Shaunavon Snack Shack!

 

Pick out your favourite pumpkin, like one grown by Floberg Farms, get your carving tools ready, gather your friends and family together, and let the pumpkin carving festivities begin!

 

We encourage everyone - from beginner carvers to master artists - to join in the fun. This is your chance to show off your unique vision and create a masterpiece that will leave everyone in awe!

 

There are three age categories you can enter:

  1. Youth: age 12 and under

  2. Teens: age 13-17

  3. Adults: age 18 and over

 

Here's how to enter:

Once you've completed your pumpkin masterpiece, snap a photo of your original creation and:

  • Don’t forget to tell us your name, how to contact you, and the age category you are submitting for.

  • The deadline to enter is October 31, 2023.

  • By submitting your entry, you agree and consent to the Official Contest Rules.

  1. Youth: aged 12 and under - $50 Gift Certificate to the Shaunavon Snack Shack

  2. Teen: aged 13-17 - $50 Gift Certificate to the Shaunavon Snack Shack

  3. Adult: aged 18 and over - $100 Gift Certificate to the Shaunavon Florist and Garden Center

 

People’s Choice!

The winner will be determined by people's choice! Voting opens at noon on Thursday, November 2nd and closes at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 5th. You will be able to view and vote for your favourite right here!

Rules

Official Contest Rules

  • Entry submissions must be received by 11:59 pm Saskatchewan time on October 31, 2023. Submissions will only be accepted when sent by email to ShaunavonFlorist@gmail.com or through Facebook Messenger via the Shaunavon Florist and Garden Center Facebook page.

  • One prize will be awarded per category

    • Youth: age 12 and under - $50 Gift Certificate to the Shaunavon Snack Shack

    • Teens: age 13-17 - $50 Gift Certificate to the Shaunavon Snack Shack

    • Adults: age 18 and over - $100 Gift Certificate to the Shaunavon Florist and Garden Center

  • The entrant confirms that the submission is an original carving. Submissions must be of pumpkins carved by the entrant in October of 2023. Stock photos or photos that have been manipulated using photo editing software will be disqualified.

  • Parental or guardian consent and contact information are required for those aged 12 and under.

  • The winner will be selected by the top number of votes cast in the People’s Choice. In the event of a tie, the prize will be divided evenly among winners.

  • Voting opens at 12:00pm Saskatchewan time on Wednesday, November 1st and closes at 6:00 pm Saskatchewan on Sunday, November 5th, 2023

  • Winners will be contacted 3 (three) times between November 6 to November 10th. In the event the winner cannot be contacted, the entry will be forfeit and the next-place submission will be contacted. This process will continue until a winner has been awarded the prize.

  • The winner grants permission for Shaunavon Florist and Garden Center to publish the winner’s name and/or photograph as it sees fit without remuneration for Shaunavon Florist and Garden Center's website and social media.

  • No purchase is necessary to enter.

  • The winner will need to answer the skill-testing question of (4 x 10) – (8 + 1)  = ____.

  • Shaunavon Florist and Garden Center reserves the right to terminate, amend or suspend this Contest at any time and without prior notice should any factors (virus, bugs, computer, electronic, or system malfunction, or any other factor(s)) adversely affect the administration, security or proper conduct of the Contest as contemplated by these Official Rules.
